If you have a product, service or experience that you think would be a good fit for VanVentures, we’re happy to hear about it. Reviews are an opportunity for us to look properly at something that may be useful or interesting to our readers, then share what we genuinely think about it.
That last part matters. We’re interested in worthwhile things to review, but submitting a request does not automatically mean we will cover it. We need to make sure it is relevant to VanVentures and that we can give it enough time and attention to produce a useful review.
How to request a review
To get in touch, email us at hello@vanventures.co.uk with as much useful detail as possible about what you would like us to review.
Tell us what the product, service or experience is, why you think it may be relevant to VanVentures and whether there is a particular date involved. The more useful information we have at the start, the easier it is for us to decide whether the review is a good fit and what would be involved.
Please also be clear about any commercial arrangement connected with the proposed review. That includes payment or a gifted product, service or trip. We would rather know the full arrangement from the outset than discover an important detail halfway through.
Give us enough time
If you need a review completed by a particular date, give us as much notice as you can. Ideally, we suggest allowing at least 3–4 weeks.
A review is not particularly useful if it has been rushed simply to meet a deadline. Having enough notice gives us time to prepare properly and give the product or service the attention it deserves rather than squeezing it into an unrealistic timescale.
If there is a fixed date involved, mention it in your first email so we can take that into account when considering the request.
Honest reviews come first
VanVentures reviews are written with honesty and integrity. If there is a relevant commercial relationship behind a review, we will make that clear to readers. Receiving a product, service or other benefit does not buy a favourable opinion.
Our aim is to give readers a fair and independent assessment based on what we can genuinely say about the thing we are reviewing. That means talking about what works well, but it also means being willing to mention drawbacks, limitations or things we simply do not like.
We think that is more useful to readers and ultimately more useful to anyone confident enough in their product or service to put it forward for review.
A quick note about criticism
Please do not request a review if you are only looking for guaranteed praise.
Fair criticism is part of an honest review, and we will not remove a published review simply because you disagree with our opinion. We will be fair, but we will also say what we think. Otherwise there would not be much point in reviewing anything in the first place.
Want us to take a look?
If that approach sounds fair and you have something you think belongs on VanVentures, send the details to hello@vanventures.co.uk.
Give us a clear picture of what you are proposing, flag any deadlines and commercial arrangements, and we’ll consider whether it is something we can review.
